This is our host "Annie" she told a story today about a picnic she was going on with her best friend Kelly. She made a HUGE sandwich so she and Kelly could spend a LONG time together. The kids helped "Annie" think of things she could put on her sandwich.
BIBLE STORYThis week our 2 year old through 5 year old Junior Kidz learned about the story of the 2 friends that went walking, catching up on each other's lives. When a third friend joined them on their walk. Who was this third friend? JESUS!
They walked and shared and laughed for hours until they realized it was dark. They didn't want to be apart yet, so they invited Jesus for supper, and Jesus said YES! So the friends went back to have supper together.
Jesus wants to be our friend. He loves it when we talk to him and invite him to hang out with us. He IS our best friend.
Their new worship song is "Yabba Dabba" the chorus is "Yabba Dabba, cocka doodle doo, I know that Jesus loves You."
SMALL GROUPS
3-5 yr olds: The children did an activity called "A Walk With Friends" they walked around the room swinging their elbows high and singing silly songs like: "I was walking down the road one day, going to my friend's house to play when out jumped a dog--ruff, ruff--followed by a hog--oink, oink--so I met some new friends on my way."
2 yr olds: The children set a pretty dinner table with a table cloth, plates, cups, silverware, flowers...then they talked about the special supper the 3 friends had!
1 year olds play "Pass the Love" with a heart pillow and whoever has the pillow we say "Jesus loves (child's name)
Nursery: When diapers are being changed we sing "Jesus Loves You."
